Just a very important reminder that kpop isn’t that deep. With all the jokes and memes aside, please keep in mind that it’s just music and you shouldn’t let it dictate or overtake your life. There are soooooo many more important things to worry about and prioritize in your life, and kpop or your bias should absolutely not be one of them.

Okay so I apologize for my terrible writing, but I was in my Jaejoong feels as well as my baby feels I rarely get into, so this was the result… Shout out to the lovely follower that messaged me the name that I used for this story on Instagram… and I write too many cute fluffy scenarios so I wanted to try something different yet still keep it fluffy

You watched with a smile on your face as your six year old son Alexander happily played with the other children at the playground. You felt a tug on your heart as you thought of how much he reminded you of your husband, Jaejoong, who you missed dearly. Last year about a month after Alexander’s birthday, Jaejoong left for his mandatory two years of military service. Of course you knew that he had to do it, yet you still couldn’t help the way your heart ached to see him again, to have your tiny family back together and happy. You’re pulled out of your train of thought when your son runs up to you. You bend to meet his eye level as he speaks. “Mommy, I met a new friend. She’s really nice, her name is Caroline, and we played with chalk and jump rope together!” You smiled as your son babbled on and smiled, showing his adorable smile that was missing a few teeth. “You did?” you exaggerate the sentence in amusement. Alexander nods frantically before grabbing your hand and pointing at a little girl who’s sitting with her mom, drinking from a juice box. “That’s her!” as he says this, the little girl looks up and waves, causes Alexander to smile and wave back.
Watching their interaction, you can’t help but smile. You bend down to be eye level with him once again. “Alexander, do you wanna go for ice cream?” as you say this, your son’s face lights up and he’s desperately grabbing at your hand, trying to lead you out of the park and towards your car. “Come on mommy, let’s go!”
At Alexander’s favorite ice cream shop, you allow him to get a sundae with his favorite flavors and toppings and you grab a simple smoothie of your favorite flavor. As you sit with a smile and watch Alexander enjoy his ice cream, you’re reminded of your first date with Jaejoong. He had taken you out for a stroll and a picnic in the park near his apartment, and you two had stopped at this exact place on the walk back to your apartment. Once you had gotten to your doorstep, he left a gentle kiss to your cheek that made you feel like your heart would leap out of your chest. He didn’t hesitate to call the next morning and schedule a second date.
“Mommy?” Your son’s tiny voice pulls you out of your memories and you hum in response. “When is daddy coming back?” he asks you. His tiny voice makes the question so nonchalant as he continues to eat his ice cream, but to you the question is like a punch in the gut. Of course Alexander remembers his father, he was five when Jaejoong left, and you constantly reminded him of who he was with pictures and videos, afraid he’ll forget. “Just a little while longer and he’ll be back. Why’d you ask sweetheart?” “I miss eating ice cream with him.” He trails off at the end of his sentence.
That night you had returned home and after making Alexander dinner and giving him a bath, you settled him into his bed and read him a story. Kissing him goodnight you returned to your room where you lay sprawled out on your bed. You glance over at your wedding photo that you keep on the bedside table. The two of you looked so happy that it made tears form in your eyes…
Seven Months Later
It was Alexander’s first day of school. He’d be starting first grade today. The day before he had told you how excited and nervous he was to be starting school. As your alarm went off signaling you to go wake your son up, you smelt something cooking. Figuring it was just your neighbors cooking again, you got up and walked to Alexander’s room. Seeing his door was already opened, you peeped in, only to see that he wasn’t there. Panicking, you called for your son and began to look for him all over the house. As you walked down the stairs, prepared to look outside, you find Alexander sitting sitting in front of the TV, watching cartoons. “Sweetheart why are you down here?” you say, letting out a relieved sigh. Your son gives you a toothy smile before running past you and into the kitchen, where you hear a very familiar voice cheerfully greet him. Not believing your ears, you slowly follow your son into the kitchen. What you see makes your heart stop and tears well in your eyes. Jaejoong has Alexander in his arms and is playing with his baby cheeks as he giggles. He’s still in his military uniform. Alexander points to where you’re frozen by the entrance and Jaejoong turns to look at you and smiles. Not able to keep yourself together anymore, tears spill from your eyes and Jaejoong softly chuckles before sitting your son down. He walks over to you and pulls you into a hug, letting you cry into his chest. “I missed you so much.” He speaks into your hair.
You pull back abruptly and stare at him. “How did you get here? Did you run away?” Jaejoong chuckles at your questions and moves a piece of hair behind your ear. “Did you forget what day it was?” he questions, voice full of amusement. You grab your phone from your pocket, checking the date. Today is the day that Jaejoong returns home. “I did actually.” you say before laughing. You had been so busy with work and getting Alexander prepared for school. That you had lost track of the days. “Well Alexander has already had his breakfast and is ready for school. So, I say both of us walk him there. How does that sound little buddy” Jaejoong asks, looking back at your son who is playing with two toy trains. Alexander puts the trains down and runs to the living room to grab his things you assume. Jaejoong leaves a gentle kiss to your lips before following your son into the other room.
You watch them in pure joy. You’re little family was back together and you couldn’t be happier.
